Back in 2005 we built Kingfisher an online reporting tool to collect non-financial data across their sustainability issues. Since then we’ve continually developed the tool, working with their sustainability team to meet their evolving requirements and match advancements in online reporting with an extensive package of facilities and functions.
The tool contains several questionnaires that collect data using a variety of reporting methods as well as a comprehensive file upload and catalogue facility to store supporting evidence files, comments and auditing facilities. Users across the business access and input their data remotely. Its granulated structure lets individual users have filtered access at a question level. The site includes multi-company home dashboard pages, a large range of questionnaires, reports, and facilities such as the ability to choose to view the tool from a list of languages.
Administrators within Kingfisher’s sustainability team and their external consultants Bioregional are able to update questionnaires and analyse content themselves. To reflect the company’s management structure the tool also has a set of different user types for specific functions. Its submission, verification and sign-off facilities for time management and auditing was tailored to their reporting process. Over the years we’ve updated these functions to fit changes in management procedures, as well as making updates to their branding and corporate styles.
The tool produces real-time summary data and analysis using formula and conversion factors which can be presented as either an Excel spreadsheet, a PDF summary document, dashboard view or chart outputs. The analysis functions enable tracking of trends and comparisons with benchmarks and targets.
